Terri Gast

Veterans Affairs Chaplain

I specialize in mental health chaplaincy, primarily helping Veterans facing suicidal thoughts, trauma, moral injury, and those in substance abuse recovery seeking ongoing support. I lead spirituality and moral injury reconciliation groups, provide individual spiritual counseling upon request, and reach out to high-risk Veterans as needed. Every four weeks, I offer spiritual support to all hospital units and lead worship services at the Lake City Veterans Affairs Medical Center. I served as an Air Force chaplain from 2002 to 2010, including time in South Korea and at a combat trauma hospital in Afghanistan. I hold a Master of Divinity focused on cross-cultural studies from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Master of Social Work from Fordham University, and I will graduate with a Doctor of Ministry in mental health chaplaincy from Vanderbilt University in May 2025. I am an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God.
